London Eye

Since I saw St. Paul’s Cathedral in the morning I had the rest of the day to explore the city. South Bank is where I ended up first and I came across a building with DC Comics characters plastered on the side. I was way too curious not to head in. I stumbled on The Art of The Brick: DC Superheroes exhibit. The lifesize Lego figures were all created by artist, Nathan Sawaya. I’m a huge comic book geek so I was very familiar with the source material. After an hour or so I went to Waterloo to see the incredible London Eye.

London Eye is near Jubilee Gardens so I had a nice, cool spot to create a painting. Like my other London paintings I created a cropped viewpoint of the structure to make it more unique to me. The first layer was painted white and then the rest of it was done black and gunmetal and grey. The common thread between all of my European paintings is painterly work with a bit of impressionistic flair. Art created using Procreate on iPad Pro 9.7 using an Apple Pencil.
