London: Hampton Court Palace

A lot of planning went into my first trip to London recently but there was room for spontaneity. On a beautiful summer day I went to explore Hampton Court Palace. The palace was where Henry VIII lived. Since the palace was so massive I spent half the day exploring. Construction of it dated back to 1515 and it was evident in the architecture. Entering the gatehouse was almost overwhelming because I felt like I had gone back in time.

I get that feeling from time to time when I walk through Yale to get to the New Haven Green but this was on another level entirely. All of the extravagant art and architecture were definitely worth the price of £18.40. I decided to paint a part of The Base Court and a window in one of the many courtyards. Art created using Procreate on iPad Pro 9.7 inch.
