Avignon: La Manutention

One of the more difficult aspects of planning my first trip to Europe invloved figuring out the places I was going to. Initially it was going to be London and Barcelona. Paris was a late addition because getting a train there from London was very cheap. My friend and art advisor Barbara was going to be in Avignon, France for their big festival.

We worked it so I would have a few days in Paris and a day and a half in Avignon before I flew to Barcelona. I really enjoyed the hustle and bustle of Avignon. Just being there felt like the middle ages because the old town is surrounded by a casle gate. My time there was brief but I managed to squeeze this painting in while enjoying some French wine.
