Family Portrait
October 29, 2016My Mom commissioned me (pro-bono of course because family doesn’t pay) to illustrate our family. I’ve been getting back to my Pop Art style since I got the Apple Pencil.
It allows for more line weight variety and makes the illustration feel solid. Illustrating the three of us was challenging initially but I just had to remember scale as I drew all of us.
I worked in three stages: First I used the 6B Pencil tool in Procreate to create a blue line sketch. Next I created a Charcoal sketch to start the detail work.
After I inked the piece using the technical pen and I colored the illustration using the flat brush tool. The pop art effects were added afterward after copying the illustration several times.
