#WhereIsRa?: iPad Painting with Ra x Fifty Three Remixer

Welcome to my blog! In this post I will be recapping my recent trips to Manhattan.

I’ve been iPad Painting for almost five years now. (Drawing and Painting traditionally for over 20.) Networking has been just as important to my success as actually learning how to use the apps to create art. The logical thing was to approach Apple about doing a workshop.
Their marketing campaigns flirted with the idea of iPad Art but never really delved into what could be done. With their “Start Something New” campaign Apple did just that. Then before I knew it The West 14th St store reached out to me to run a workshop and it was amazing. I split my workshop into demoing all of the apps I use and showing finished paintings. This way I never lingered on anything and my audience got a mix of iPad Painting apps. All in all it was a fun workshop and time flew by. I feel like I’m venturing into new territory with Apple supporting my craft. Photos by Lora Germain.

The following day I visited Fifty Three’s offices (creators of Paper) for their remixer event. They’re a great startup and I can appreciate the fact that they view their artists and enthusiasts as a community. I got to meet the team and learn a lot of new tricks I can’t wait to try out with Paper. Lastly I would like to thank Enrique Lastra at Apple, Amy Cao at Fifty Three, Jean Paul Germain and Lora Germain for all of their support.
