Today I had my student RJ create some anatomy drawings on the iPad Pro using the Apple Pencil. He has mastered Brushes Redux so we’ve moved on to Procreate. To begin he creates a sketch using the Pencil tool freehand. To enhance his anatomy studies I then have him trace the photo reference from the anatomy book. Tracing gets a bad reputation but it can be used to enhance your drawing skills. 

This way RJ can compare his freehand drawingto the traced one and see where the differences are. When he switches back to freehand it will start to improve his eye-hand coordination. We are focusing on skulls for the moment before we switch to a different part. Overall I am very pleased with his progress.
