#WhereIsRa?: Palo Alto/mDAC 2015

Welcome to my blog! In this post I will be talking about my recent trip to Palo Alto.

This past week I attended the Mobile Digital Art and Creativity Summit at The Palo Alto Art Center. It always ends up being a big, family reunion because I’ve made so many connections with other iPad Artists, iPhoneographers and developers. During the three days of the conference there was an exhibition and workshops. There were workshops like Life Drawing using Sketchclub, a course on Sketchbook Pro and also Procreate. I’ve noticed with each year the summit grows larger and larger. Artists and enthusiasts filled up the space. The excitement was palpable. I taught a workshop on ArtRage for iPad and it went extremely well.

Not only was it an opportunity to showcase my knowledge of the program but also to expose a large audience to the wonders of this program. The other highlight of my trip was visiting my friends at Flipboard. I’m excited to announce that they interviewed me on how I use the app and my fashion illustration. That should be coming out soon.

Before flying out I had a chance to visit The Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco to see the Amy Winehouse exhibit. I’ve always been a big fan of her music and seeing the Winehouse family’s perspective on Amy was amazing. I always listen to music when creating art and Amy’s music stays on repeat. As I type this I’m back home and already missing the California sun and the Palm trees. Until next year’s mDAC
