#WhereIsRa?: The Tailory’s NYFW Party

Welcome to my blog! Today I will be talking about some paintings I did to celebrate New York Fashion Week.

This past Thursday I went to The Tailory to check out their Fall Lookbook featuring GQ Insider, Leo Chan. “The concept behind The Tailory is very simple-Unique design plus impeccable custom fit will bring out your inner Olivia Pope. Each custom suit is specifically tailored to you by our master tailors using the finest materials from Asia, Italy and the UK.”-Shao Yang (The Tailory Founder)

I’ve read several articles in GQ and Esquire about New York Fashion Week but experiencing it in person is so much more fun. During the event I created a few live iPad paintings to capture the atmosphere of The Tailory. Creating art quickly and on location used to be a nerve racking experience but now I have no fear. I feed off of the energy in the room (and there were a lot of people.) and harness it. Tomorrow I’ll be heading back to New York for the Essence Block Party. I hope to make even more work there. All paintings created in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro for iPad.
