As an avid gamer I make an effort to carve out time for games I enjoy. The Kingdom Hearts series has been one of my favorite franchises since I was a kid. The last numbered entry came out on PlayStation 2 thirteen years ago. Yesterday Kingdom Hearts III dropped for PS4 and X-Box One respectively. To celebrate (before I get back to playing the game) I created this illustration of series protagonist Sora as depicted in the game. Stylistically I wanted to pay homage to Tetsuya Nomura and the anime I grew up watching. The background was inspired by my background as an oil painter. Please see below for my process.
